As Board members, it is our job to be the most vigilant watchdog of our organization as possible. The Board exists to govern the organization as well as represent it. It is crucial to understand that thought the Board may delgate resposibilities, the Board is remains responsible. When controversies arise, there can be a tendancy to rush to protect and defend those people and policies involved. This usually satisfies no-one. Instead, the Board should be its own harshest critic and search for solutions. There is no substitute for a proper investigation The first thing to do is to instead of rushing to defencd without investigating. Suck it down and do it Unfortunately for you I did serve for three years as an elected Municipal Councillor and in that time we dealt with both official complaints and concerns that may not have been officially raised with equal seriousness. Why? Something happened, maybe it's exagerated, but you should be your harshest critics and be searching for solutions instead of rushing to defencd without investigating. You may think we're fascists at the RT for not having a board and by-laws but we don't have the problems you do and if we did what good would they do us if we ignored their intent and argued and attacked our competition instead of fixing the problem? Who is going to launch an official complaint with a board whose members are publicly stating "What the fuck do we have to do with it"? You're lucky Trent is unlike the real world or for every post you've made on this site you would find yourself in much deeper legal trouble. Don't attack, don't defend, investigate and do what's right.
