Operationss Report for BoD 26Apr01 1) Our bookkeeper has been ill and the financial statements are delayed. 2) The Programme Director's report presents some interesting comparisons as to changes in content broadcast (see attached) 3) The "Rough Plan for the Summer 2001" is now available for consideration of the Board. It is essentially the same plan as last year. 4) An grant application has been made to Human Resources Development Canada under their Summer Career Placement programme. Among other things the application asks for funding for a Summer Programme Coordinator, and two other technical and publicity support positions. We would pay $8.50 per hour plus statutory benefits and receive a subsidy of $6.85 per hour. As of 26Apr01 HRDC has a recorded message stating that they hope to announce funding next week (beginning 30Apr01) 5) There was an informal meeting with the new TCSA President, Marisa Barnhart, to discuss a levy report protocol which would involve the participation of the TCSA, student funded groups, and Trent University. The idea is to have a single statement reporting the receipt and disbursements of monies to, from and by all parties. 6) The new logger system would record and save all material broadcast as per CRTC Radio Regulation No. 8 on a personal computer. We are awaiting a software update before proceeding, however, noted fiddler and local Unix computer wiz Ken Brown has agreed to help us set up the system. 7) TRadio programmer, Christian Durand set in a hour long programme of news and music from Ecuador, The programme is now on the TRadio web site and Trent University has made a links to it. In a related matter, the web presentations produced here and at Trent Photographics have earned a bronze medal from an association of college and university web developers. 8) We received a letter from the CRTC asking for a copy of the by-law amendments made at the last AGM, A letter from us containing this information was sent on 19 Dec 00, however, it appears they did not receive it. It is noted that a cheque sent out about the same time was not received either. The required information was emailed to the CRTC and this was acceptable to them. 9) Our thanks go to all involved in making the first two broadcast season of YE 2001 such a great success.
