General Manager's Report for BoD 24 April 2003 Trillium Progress/Planning Report A total of $2,123.92 was spent in the month of March 2003 (see attached) Ripping is proceeding well and in the last week close to the projected theoretical maximum of 93 CDs/day If this keeps up, this section of project will be caught up and may well finish months before schedule. (see attached) This means we may be looking at installing Studio C audio in January 2004 instead of April 2004. Work on the finding aid should proceed of the Summer and be in place for the Fall 2003 Season. 36 Storage tubs were purchased at a cost of about $625.00. The tubs hold about 450 CDs each. The total purchase should accommodate about 16,500 CDs. They also seem to be compatible with LP storage. Two new computers ($2000) have been purchased, ostensibly to replace the Programme Director's CPU and upgrade the audio logger. A further purchases will be made to upgrade existing cpus, such that there will be two dedicated to encoding LPs over the summer. We are exploring the possibility of becoming a wireless broadband Internet hub site for PIPCOM. In return we will receive high speed Internet service at no cost. The Downtown Student Facility Trust has made an offer on a building close by, and has requested our moral support in obtaining it. It has been recommended that we pursue contracting the services of Gary Hooper, P Eng for repairs and maintenance for the transmitter. It is recommended that this be followed up over the summer. The Summer Career Placement grant has still not been announced. Al Kirkcaldy and I will serve on the hiring committee. There is an excellent opportunity to send our Digital Audio Ingest Clerk and new Programme Director to the Full Moon Audio Art camp, Trent Radio will pay $300 each toward their registration and they will organise the balance, plus transport and accommodation. This is highly recommended. Summer Office hours commence 28Apr03. Weekdays Noon - 5pm. The Rough Plan for the Summer 2003 has evolved (see list of executive producers attached) A list of Important Dates Apr03-Sep04 has been prepared (see attached) Our web counts as of 24Apr03 at 5pm are 8388 main page and 2907 Audio Stream.
