Report of the Social Convenor for BoD 24 April 2003 Anne Stevenson the Social Committee has been busy this month with the planning and execution of a goodbye party for Barb Woolner. In spite of a few mishaps leading up to the party, the event was a great success. Thanks to all who came and an especially huge thank you to Emily Addison who did a wonderful job organizing and preparing for the party. Her efforts were invaluable and much appreciated. Thanks also to John and Paul for their help with the guest list and other party details. The scrapbook for Barb, although already presented to her, will remain at Trent Radio for the next few weeks so that others may contribute. The Social Committee is disappointed to report the failure of an ongoing project. At the behest of John Muir, attempts were made to arrange a surprise party for Emily Addison in appreciation for her years as Board President. In spite of a number of attempts, this event never came through. Apologies to both Emily and John. If possible, I recommend a post-Board meeting at the Old Stone in lieu of the previously planned event. I am also sad to report that this will be my last board meeting, as my plans to study in Ghana next year have come to fruition. It has been my pleasure to serve with the Board these past two years and I hope to be able to see you all at the end of August. Thanks, and very bests, Anne Stevenson [end]
