TRENT RADIO MINUTES 19 September 1997 MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF TRENT RADIO, held at The Senior Common Room, Peter Robinson College, Peterborough Ontario, on September 19, 1997. P R E S E N T: Barb Bell, Andrew Fogarasi, Dean Girard, Lisa Howard. R E G R E T S: Franca Cioffi, Danielle Tassie, and Emily Watkins. Also present: Barbara Woolner, P.D. & John Muir, G.M. The meeting was called to order at 2:20 p.m. with Andrew Fogarasi acting as Chair and Lisa Howard acting as Secretary. Previous Minutes: Upon a motion duly made, seconded and carried, the minutes of meetings held June 13th, 1997, and August 15th, 1997 were approved with the following changes: Franca Cioffi is listed as both present and not present on June 13th. She was not present. Barb Woolner should be distinguished from Barb Bell throughout. A proposal to produce radio drama from Susan Spicer was reviewed - see attached proposal. UPON A MOTION duly made, seconded and carried, the report of the General Manager including the Programme Director's report was approved. Committees Religious Broadcasting The Ad Hoc Committee on Religious Broadcasting has made the following recommendations: That Trent Radio adopt the C.R.T.C policy on religious broadcasting. That Trent Radio air paid fundamentalist Christian broadcasts from Target Broadcasting at sixty six dollars per hour for one year. That a review be conducted of these decisions after a period of a year. UPON A MOTION duly made, seconded and carried, the Board of Directors accepted the recommendations of the Ad Hoc Committee on Religious Broadcasting. Propaganda & Publications Trout Rodeo will be out by the end of September. Intro Week stickers were not produced. Guides, membership cards and programme proposals have been produced see P.D.'s report. UPON A MOTION duly made, seconded and carried the Propaganda & Publications report was approved. Personnel Jeff Stewart is now employed as the Trent Radio historian. The Personnel committee will meet again this month to discuss staff positions. Radio Reconnaissance: No report Radio Links No report Special Programming No report Fundraising & Special Events A special remote broadcast from Bridgenorth on Sunday September 14th made thirteen dollars, but was a success in terms of outreach. Proceeds from a fifty/fifty draw were used to pay Stu McCue seventy five dollars for his sound system. A music benefit and a fundraising project in association with Casino Rama are are to come. UPON A MOTION duly made, seconded and carried, the report of the Fundraising & Special Events committee was approved. Music A report by Jean Reno will be available at next month's meeting of the Board. Planning It was agreed that planning for A.G.M. should begin in the near future. The next Trent Radio meeting will be held on October 17, 1997, at a time to be determined.
