PROGRAMME DIRECTOR'S REPORT for Board Meeting April 1998 Barb Woolner What has Happened? * A Programming Ideas Session was held for those interested in generating ideas for their shows in the Fall Season. * Special Programme: Daniel Wiersma, a student of Pinewood Alternative School interviewed his piano teacher. * Special Programme - (Chemistry) Prof Alecia Zobel was interviewed by a few of her students about Vitamins and Health. She did a second programme on Nutrition. * Special Programme - Cara (?) did a feature about a band from Vancouver (a band that her uncle manages). * Radio Project Day - Aboriginal Voices March 31. Coordinator was Lisa- Marie Milliken. It was a great day of programming. * Special Programme - Kristina Rawlings interviewed Melinda Rees of the Community Legal Centre on the topic of the new Tenant Protection Act. * Radio Project Day - For Laugher; Comedy Day was Sunday April 5 and coordinated by the Air Pollution Programmers, Daniel O'Brian, Cameron Esler and Teige Reid. * Special Programme - Another Girl Guide group visited the station and organized a programme. * Special Programme - Four, Grade 7 students from St Paul's present their radio programmes about The Olympics and a Movie Debate - which is better, Titanic or Star Wars. * Special Programme - Grade 6 students from Ridpath Public School pretaped a programme in their classroom. They sang songs and talked about themselves in French. * Special Programme - Grade 5-6 students from Young's Point Public School visited Trent Radio then came the following week to do a programme - The True Rumour, based on their school newspaper. * Programme Proposals for the Summer and Fall broadcast seasons are available at the station. * Summer planning meeting was held April 19. Executive Producers for met and reviewed some proposals. A second meeting (for those who could not attend the first) was April 21. John Nuir has further details on plans for the summer broadcast season. * Archiving parties are finished for the season. * Spoken Word archiving is finished for the season. * Esther Caldwell's column, "Radio Log" in Arthur has finished for the year. * Barb has finished giving Trent Radio Programming updates on Norman in the Morning for the season. What is Happening? * There are several Special programmes and impromptu programmes scheduled for the last week of the broadcast season.
