Report of the 1998 Summer Career Placement (SCP) Hiring Committee: 

The committee was notified on Friday, 1 May 1998 that this years federal SCP 
grant award would be in the amount of $3836.00 for 14 weeks of employment.  
It was decided that all the moneys be devoted to the key Summer Programme 
Coordinator position. 

Notice of the job was posted at the HRDC Student Employment Centre, and the 
trentu.general newsgroup, with a deadline for Wednesday, 6 May at 5pm. There 
was a good selection of candidates and interviews followed the following 
day, with final selection made that evening, after some soul searching and 
intense deliberation.  The successful candidate and the other interviewees 
were informed of the Committee's decision by telephone, and an 
acknowledgement letter was sent to those not interviewed.  In addition a 
press release was issued on Saturday, 9 May 98.

Chris Tonelli appointed Trent Radio Summer Programme Coordinator 

PETERBOROUGH -- Trent Radio is pleased to announce the appointment of Chris 
Tonelli to the position of Summer Programme Coordinator effective 
immediately which shall run to 19 Aug 1997.  This position was made possible 
through a grant from the Summer Career Placement programme administered by 
Human Resources and Development Canada. 

Working with John Muir, the General Manager, Chris will be responsible for 
coordinating Trent Radio's summer operations, with the summer's volunteer 
Executive Producers. 

Mr. Tonelli has been involved in many activities here at Trent Radio, and in 
his home town of Sudbury, Ontario, and the Hiring Committee was especially 
impressed by his organisational skills, and experience in non-profit 
projects. 

All involved with Trent Radio over the summer are asked to extend a welcome 
to Chris in his position and offer him your trust and co-operation in what 
is a very tough job. 

Although Mr. Tonelli's duties will oblige him to be away from the office at 
times, he will be generally available from 2pm - 5pm, Saturday through 
Wednesday, at Trent Radio House.  He also maybe reached at Trent Radio at
