President's Report for the Trent Radio AGM 22Nov98

Well, here we are, at the end of our first full year at the new frequency.
This has been what to me seems a rare year without a CRTC application or
capital project to worry about.  This freedom allowed us the opportunity to
experiment with our new technological capabilities, and to concentrate on
what went *on* the air.

To this end, some of the exciting developments in the past year have been
the creation of a digital editing studio, the conscription of our first
artist in residence and the creation of a set of three really high quality
radio dramas.  All this in addition to the really excellent programming
that's been done.

There's also been a lot of exciting things happen this year outside of the
broadcast studio.  We saw the start of the Trent Radio Salon Series, the
weekly Radio log ,and the first ever Trent Radio rave - Nexxus, all of which
I hope we will see continue.

Also this year was the creation of two pamphlets - a how to use Trent Radio,
and a how to create a PSA.  These should help us to continue to make our
presence known in the community, as will the 24 hour marathon which Barb
Bell has been talked into doing for another year.

I'd like to thank my fellow Board members, the staff and all the volunteers
who helped make this such a great year for the development of Trent Radio.
