Report from 'Propaganda and Community Links' for BoD 29Sep99 From: Emily Addison Date: Sat, 25 Sep 1999 09:58:06 -0400 (EDT) During 'introweek' Trent Radio had a booth at the 'Clubs and Groups' day. Barb organised the event and did most of the tech work. John was there as support and Chris was in the studio. Amelia, George and I were the hosts. Things went extremely smoothly and we had quite a few visitors. Thanks Barb for the great time! Other than that, I was just doing some propaganda to the first year students in LEC and beyond during the 'introweek'. It seemed to have worked considering that a few of them have gone as far as to apply for shows. Ideas: To be discussed at the meeting... I would like input on the idea of putting up posters around campus about Trent Radio to make student more aware near the start of school. I figure that since they are the ones that are funding the station, some energy should be spent there to inform and posters often work. Also, we had weekly announcements in the Arthur by Ester the past few years and we is going to take a break this year, which is totally understandable. An idea for regrouping that would be great Other ideas: I am planning an event for the concurrent education students, hopefully for late October or early November to inform them about Trent Radio and how it works. This will be held at Trent Radio. This is to inform 'potential' future teachers in this area (before they get caught up in school) as how they can link their classroom to Trent Radio - in the hopes of links, whether in the near or far future. I am also hoping to do 'Radio on the Lawn' again because that fell right under my committee and I had a wonderful time. I am debating as to whether it should be fall or spring...but it is looking like spring right now. Input would be great. Emily
