Propaganda and Community Links for November 5 1999 Emily Addison There are two issues that I see as present in terms of the Propaganda and Community Links Committee at this time. First, the planning for the concurrent education radio morning is coming along. The date and time is November 19, 8am-11noon. The goal is to introduce future teachers to the potential of Trent Radio in the hope that there will be education links that will appear from this exercise. The format will be three-one hour slots in which students will be introduced to radio and will get the change to put together an education show right on the spot. Should be exciting! Second, from all directions, it sounds like the downtown colleges are slated for being closed. This falls into this committee's area because it is partly 'community links'. My personal opinion is that Trent Radio and Peter Robinson benefit from each other ... the fact that there are downtown colleges, attract students to become more involved in Trent Radio (since it seems kind of attached) as well as there being other benefits that go as far as snow removal. I suggest composing a letter and to try to book a meeting with Bonnie Patterson, as a community organisation that is involved closely with the university. This is a large issue and I believe requires the Board's suggestions and approval before it is carried forward. Emily Addison
