Subject: job posting: operations manager, CFBU-fm. Date: Thu, 15 Jun 2000 16:07:48 From: CFBU Radio To: ncra-info@chebucto.ns.ca CFBU is looking for a new station manager (renamed "operations manager"), to replace me, Dan Malleck. I am moving on to other opportunities, and sadly leaving behind a great job with a great staff. Included below is a brief outline of CFBU, and then the job description. Please post widely. CFBU-fm, Brock Radio, is a fairly new radio station, with all of the challenges that status entails. The past year and a half have been a period of growing financial and organizational stability, and we are now poised to move into a new phase of our operations. CFBU has a small, dedicated and terribly overworked staff that finds its most memorable moments bellying up to an all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet or working all day to solve technical glitches (both of which are thankfully few and far between) The position of manager is one that requires a jack/jill of all trades, but some key aspects should be highlighted. Along with the ability to forge strong working relationships with a variety of student, university and community groups, the incumbent will have a strong knowledge of successful fundraising and revenue generation strategies, including but not limited to radio sales. The key elements of the job currently entail building upon an increasingly solid financial base, and expanding the community's awareness of and involvement in Brock Radio. Any questions not answered by the subsequent job description may be directed to me, at this address, until June 23. After that, you can contact the station and speak with Julie Giampa (volunteer co-ordinator) or Anne Sulikowski (program director) at this email, at the fax number (905) 641-7581, or at (905) 688-5550 ext 4537.
